In essence, Miklos is a versatile and experienced financial advisory book of business broker, financial analyst, financial blogger and author. Once, he also sold his book of a successful financial advisory business. In his free time, he likes to shoot photos, making wine, read philosophy, archeology and literature or be with his favourite friend: Fani (Mumu), his Hungarian Puli (dog).
Miklos is a financial professional with over 33 years of experience. He worked six years at Credit Suisse Canada as a corporate credit analyst, 21 years as a financial advisor and 26 years as a life and disability insurance specialist. He co-founded Canada’s first hedge fund publication, information provider and conference organizer in 2001 and has been a Chief Executive and Portfolio Manager at a Toronto based Portfolio Management and Exempt Market Dealer firm for 10 years (5 years as a Portfolio Manager).
Miklos is the co-author of Canada’s first hedge fund book; “Hedge Funds for Canadians”, published by John Wiley and Sons. He has been featured repeatedly on national television and newspapers. Miklos has also been invited as a speaker to numerous financial seminars and conferences for several organizations around the world. He co-authored the Chartered Alternative Investment Planner Program, a certification course offered by Radius Financial Education.
Miklos studied Math and Computer Science in Hungary, graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons.) degree from the University of Toronto in Economics and Statistics and held the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), from 2000 to 2018, and the CFP (Certified Financial Planner), from 2001 to 2015, professional designations. He also completed the winemaker program at Niagara College graduating in 2017.
Miklos is Past Chair of CIFPs (“Canadian Institute of Financial Planners Association”) and has also been a board member of CIFPs and the Exempt Market Dealers Association of Canada between the years of 2003 and 2014 and 2008 and 2014 respectively.
